The 1954 Johnston
Cookies Milwaukee Braves baseball Card set consists
of 35 cards that measure 1-3/4" x 3-1/2".
The Johnston
Cookie company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin issued its second
of three regional sets featuring the Milwaukee Braves in
1954. The cards could be found in their Pops Cookies
packages or by mail order. From 1953 to 1955 the
Johnston Cookie Company produced some of
the nicest sets of the era. Including Aaron, Spahn,
Mathews, Bruton, Burdette, Crandall, Adcock, and
others. Pictured above is Hank Aaron, and
below Eddie Mathews. Reprints of this set have
been issued. The numbers on this 35 card set correspond
with the players uniform numbers. note: Hank Aaron
rookie's spring training number was 5. Two cards; Dr.
Charles Lacks, and Joseph F. Taylor are not numbered.
