The
H&B Safe hit Baseball Bat was an inexpensive retail baseball bat
carried for many years in the Hillerich & Bradsby line of store
model bats. Originally designated with the catalog No.
15, the first Safe Hit models came with a decal on the
barrel that read "Professional". The catalog number
was changed to No. 14 in 1939. The Joe
DiMaggio Safe Hit bat pictured above can be dated to about
1939-1952. This H&B center Brand was first used in 1932 and
continued until 1952.
