NOTES:

This This is an 1897-1911 J. F. Hillerich & Son Baseball Bat. Louisville Slugger began making baseball bats in 1897. This baseball bat is a great example of one of their earliest styles. Measuring 33 ½” it is extremely heavy, the logo is choice and the handle is very thick, just a FANTASTIC antique baseball bat. In 1905 Honus Wagner, a star for the Pittsburgh Pirates, signed a contract with Hillerich & Bradsby co. and became the first player ever to endorse a bat. His autograph was also the first to be used on a bat and the first known professional athlete endorsement of a retail product. Ty Cobb signed with the company in 1908. This Bat has no player endorsement.
