The
Black Face Bobbing Head series was issued from 1963 through 1965. All the dolls sit on a
Green base and have similar body types to the Green base series. All the dolls in this series are considered rare as they were issued in limited quantities in the 60's. There were only 16 of the then 20 Major League teams represented (no
K.C. Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins or S.F. Giants). There are two different facial styles- a happy face and a more serious face. The
Houston Colt 45 doll is considered one of the rarest in the hobby and individual dolls have sold for over $10,000.
The New York Yankees Doll books for $3,000. There are of course no mascot dolls in this series.
