This
is a vintage
Brooklyn Dodgers professional model cap Circa 1956.
Because there is no number on the bill of the cap, collectors may value this cap as only an extremely rare authentic 1956
Brooklyn Dodgers cap without attribution to any
player. The blue wool cap features an embroidered white "B" on the front and a white button along the top. A
"Tim McAuliffe" label appears along the back of the interior headband, as does a stamp reading "Pro KM Cap",
and size 6 7/8. More picture below.
The Golden era of the
Brooklyn Dodgers has always been considered the period from 1947 through the 1957 season (their last in Brooklyn). During that time period the
Brooklyn Dodgers would play in 6 World Series winning only once. 1955 the
Brooklyn Dodgers won the NL Pennant, and then Da' Bums went on to beat the Yankees in the World Series. Although breaking the hearts of Brooklynites by moving the team to Los Angeles two years later. Dodger enthusiasts still pine for their team, and have made Brooklyn Dodgers
Baseball memorabilia some of the most sought after in the hobby.
