Mickey
Mantle's Holiday Inn was opened in Joplin, Missouri with
business partner Harold Youngman in 1957. Items from
Mickey Mantle's Holiday Inn Gift shop Included ashtrays,
photo postcards, "Our Trip" photo album, and the most
popular item, the felt pennants.
The Pennants were
sold in different sizes, colors, and designs, including
the most common which featured the Holiday Inn Logo of
Mickey Mantle Swinging. These pennants can range in value
from about $250. for the Mickey Swinging Logo, & Crossed
Bats mini 13" -17" Pennant to about $700. for the larger
sized 27" switch Hitter Baseball Design.
Condition
is important on putting a value on a pennant. Common
flaws with pennants are missing ties, pin holes, frying,
creases, and crazing or cracked printing. All or
any flaws will bring the value down significantly
accordingly.
