is a 1953-1958 Cincinnati Redlegs / Red
Stockings Pin back button. Originally named the Red
Stockings 1876-1882 the Cincinnati Reds
(1882-present) were named the Redlegs for a six
year period between 1953-1958. The name was changed in
order to avoid any controversy and rumors that they
might have supported Communism. The Logo pictured on
this pin was used by the team from 1953-1960 two years
after the name was switched back to the Reds.
