NOTES:

After seeing the success Rainbo Records had with the flexi record technology by filling a 16 million disc order for General Mills, in 1955, Columbia Records developed "Auravision," a process of combining recorded sound with printed matter. In 1962 Columbia Record productions released a test issue set of 8 premium Auravision paper disc records. The transparent flexi record was laminated over a paper picture of a ballplayer. In 1964 Columbia produced a 16 record set featuring baseball stars of the day.

The 33 1/3 RPM premium records were made available through special offers by Yoo-Hoo, Milk Duds candy boxes and Meadow Gold Milk containers. The overstock premium records were distributed by Sports Champions inc. that were used as giveaways by a number advertisers. In 1964, I received the records from the Good humor Ice cream man, and I like every other kid, ran home to play it. You then had to punch out the spindle hole, yet there are plenty of records with the punch-out intact. There were a large hoard of factory stock stored until they were let out into the collectors market in the late 1970's -1980's.

The records contain a 5 minute player interview with Sportscaster Marty Glickman. The front features a color player photo, accompanied by a facsimile autograph, with the player's bio and stats on the back. The checklist below is in alphabetical order by player followed by the estimated value.
