1908-1909 Spalding Official National League

NOTES: |
The
1908 Red stitched baseball is the first baseball made
specifically for the National League. The sweetspot now
reads "Official National League" The north panel now reads
"HORSE HIDE COVER" "SPALDING" "NO. 1". The Spalding logo
on the south panel remains the same from the year before.
The "Harry Pulliam" Presidential signature stamp on the
east panel has the date "1908" below it and the following
year "1909".
"Paten Applied For" is added to the
left of the word "OFFICIAL" on the 1909 baseball. Also in
1909 the baseball is stitched with Red and Black thread,
and will remain in use until 1934.
