This is a
vintage 1975 Cincinnati Reds facsimile team signed
baseball. "The Big Red Machine"
dominated the National League from 1972 to 1976. Over that span, they won five division titles, three National League pennants and two World Series. Their combined record was 502-300.
Facsimile autographed baseballs like this were
normally used for promotions, and or sold at Major
League stadiums as souvenirs. This baseball was a
promotional Give away, and is worth between
$15. -- $20. If you can dig up any promotional
advertising with the baseball you could get about $40.
-$50. The "Bleeding" or smudging of the ink is
caused by a low grade porous cover on the baseball
causing the ink to seep into the cover. This apparently
is a common problem with souvenir baseballs from
this era as I have a 1977 Yankees souvenir baseball with
the same problem, and can be viewed here.
Signatures
on this Baseball include Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan,
Pete Rose, Tony Perez, George Foster, George (Sparky)
Anderson, and Clay Carroll who played his last year
with the Big Red Machine in 1975, and helped me date
this
ball.

signatures are often mistaken as authentic. For more
