This
is a vintage Crescent Padding Fielders Glove Made by the leather division of the
Ripon Knitting Works
company located in Ripon Wisconsin.
The web style on this glove was first introduced by Bill Doak in 1920 and development of this style became more popular as the decade progressed. The Crescent padding was more commonly used in the
pre 1900's -1910 period. The Ripon Knitting Works company specialized in woolen hosiery, leather gloves and, mittens. They probably tried to gain some revenue by producing this glove mixing the old style crescent padding with the modern Doak style web.
