available for advertiser's
to promote their business. The
dark mahogany color wood bat pencils
feature a Louisville Slugger center
brand with "Baseball's 100th
Anniversary" on the barrel in gold. One of the most
successful promotions was with General
Mill's Wheaties Baseball's 100th Anniversary
box tops offer.
The pencils were made available by sending in .10¢ and one Wheaties
Box-Top to Wheaties Minneapolis,
Minnesota. The pencil, shaped like a
baseball bat has a bronze, fully
automatic, sturdy durable mechanism.
Details about the Wheaties 100th
Anniversary Baseball Pencil offer, was
also promoted over the radio. The
mechanical pencils were also available
direct from the Lewis F. Dow, an
advertising specialties company in St.
Paul, Minnesota. The Baseball bat
