The official All-Star Game baseballs produced
from 1990 to 1992 were stamped with
blue
ink. Like the regular season baseballs
the sweet spot reads "OFFICIAL BALL" at
the top, with a star on each side, but
the next line below reads
"1990 ALL-STAR GAME" all in uppercase
lettering. The third line features the
facsimile stamped signature of the Commissioner
of Baseball "Fay Vincent Jr. COMMISSIONER."
The top panel is stamped with the
Rawlings® script logo. The bottom panel
features the commemorative "1990
All-Star Game" logo.
The 1990 baseball features the commemorative "1990 All-Star Game" logo,
centered by the Chicago Cubs team logo,
the team that hosted the game, with the
MLB logo at the bottom. The 1991
baseball features the commemorative
"1991 All-Star Game" logo, Toronto Blue
Jays logo at the top, the team that
hosted the game, with the MLB logo at
the bottom.
The 1992 baseball features the commemorative "1992 All-Star Game" logo,
San Diego Padres at the top, the team
that hosted the game, with the MLB logo
at the bottom. This is also the first
year the baseballs have multicolored
stitching. The 1992 baseball has the
San Diego Padres blue & orange
stitches.
In 1992 Fay Vincent resigned as the commissioner of baseball due to a vote
of no confidence by eighteen of the 27
team owners. After Vincent stepped
down, Major League baseball requested
that Rawlings not stamp any World
Series balls with his signature.
However, Rawlings began shipping
commemorative 1992 World Series balls
with Vincent’s signature to sporting
goods stores in August. The following year in 1993
Commissioner Bud H. Selig Official World Series
baseballs are produced.
