The Pete Rose Ballpark Cafe opened in
1992 in the Lakeside Center on Glades
Road in West Boca Raton. Designed to
resemble a miniature baseball stadium
the Pete Rose Cafe had towering stadium
lights shinning down on the exterior.
Patrons entering the cafe passed
through turnstiles just like the
ballpark.
Once inside Pete's incredible
collection of baseball honors was on
display in lengthy showcases lining the
entrance-way. One of the largest
collections of accolades ever assembled
anywhere by a single athlete. On
display were the bat & ball that Rose
used to hit his famous 4,256th record
hit. World Series rings, All-Star bats
and balls, plaques, trophies, awards,
and numerous other sports memorabilia.
The Pete Rose Ballpark Cafe inaugural
season souvenir tickets were issued as
a promotion during the restaurants
first year in business. Rose would have
signed these for patrons when he was at
the restaurant. Pre-signed inaugural
season souvenir tickets were also made
available at the gift shop. They came
with a standard certificate of authenticity,
issued with all signed collectibles,
and reads: "Congratulations, you have
just purchased an officially licensed
"Pete Rose" collectible. Each item is
personally hand signed by Pete Rose and
guaranteed authentic by The Ball Park
Cafe Boca Ranton, FL."
The top front of the promotional ticket features the Pete Rose Ballpark
Cafe baseball diamond logo, depicting
Rose in his number 14 uniform, swinging
a bat, with "Game 1" to the left, and
"Section 4256" (number of career hits)
to the right. The bottom, below the
Pete Rose collage, has the address:
"8144 West Glades Rd. Boca Raton, FL
33434" followed by the phone number
"407-488-Pete" followed by "Ticket Must
be presented for admission" The back
features "Pete Rose's Major Records"
