This is the Vin Scully Commemorative
microphone statue, given away to the first
40,000 fans at Dodger Stadium on
May 3, 2017. The SGA - Dodger Stadium
Give Away was presented by Mercedes-Benz Dealers of
Southern California. The 89-year-old
Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully
retired after his final game, on
October 2, 2016. After 67 years of
calling Dodgers games in Brooklyn and
Los Angeles, Scully the voice of the
Dodgers was added to Dodger Stadium's
Ring of Honor. The Ring of Honor is a
circular plaque baring the retired
uniform numbers of Dodger players,
which are displayed in numerical order
along the base of the club level down
the left field line.
Vin Scully's Ring of Honor,
featuring a microphone and Scully’s
name at the top, was placed next to the
No. 53 worn by Hall of Fame pitcher Don
Drysdale. The Ring of Honor Ceremony
was held before the game played between
the San Francisco Giants, and the Los
Angeles Dodgers. The front of the box
that the microphone came in reads "Vin
Scully Commemorative microphone statue"
at the top, with the Dodgers logo and a
picture of the microphone below. The
Back of the box pictures Vin Scully.
The base of the micropone features a
Vin Scully facsimile Autograph.
