is a vintage 1922
New York Giants / Yankees World Series Press Pin. This press pin was the only style issued that year given the fact that the competing clubs shared their
Polo Grounds home. The New York Giants
Beat the Yankees in the best of seven series four games to
none. Interesting to note they played five games, and
one game ended with the score tied. Press
Pins which have been distributed since 1911, are
distributed to members of the media by the host teams
for the World Series games. The press pins
are made to be worn on the lapel to provide reporters
access to cover the game. This press pin is a
brooch with a safety pin back made by Whitehead &
Hoag.
