NOTES:

The Aberdeen IronBirds Ferrous mascot Jack-in-the-Box was a Ripken Stadium promotion "Presented By Smoking Stops Here" campaign. When you turn the crank it plays, "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" ...and POP goes the Ferrous. The Take Me Out To The Ball Game Ferrous Jack-In-The-Box features a wrap around photo of Ripken Stadium, which was named for Cal. Sr.

The box it came in has a Ferrous biography, who became the official mascot of the Aberdeen IronBirds, a class A team for the Baltimore Orioles, since it's inception in 2002. "Ferrous" means "of or containing iron," which is why Cal, and Bill Ripken thought the mascot would be a perfect fit for The IronBirds. Ferrous wears the number "26" on the right arm sleeve, which is the atomic number for iron, and "FE" on the left sleeve which is the chemical element symbol.

The IronBirds ball club partnered with the Maryland "Smoking Stops Here" campaign in 2004. The team actively participated in various community activities. The "Smoking Stops Here" movement, funded with tobacco lawsuit settlement money began in 2002, encouraging teen-agers and young adults to quit smoking.
