"It's a Hit! Play Ball" Beacon's
Television Baseball Game sales premium
was made by Prevue-Radsell Co. for The
Beacon Television Company. One of the
largest electrical appliance and light
fixture dealers between New York and
Chicago. The "amusement device" was
originally patented in 1940, by
inventor Samuel M Radzyner, and then
patented improvements in 1942. The
back of flat 3 by 10.75 inch game
features a mirror and baseball diamond,
so when folded the reflection of the
field can be seen though a window on
the outside.
The game is played in the palm of your hand, in front of you to obtain a
clear view of the baseball diamond
though the mirror. Then place a pencil
point or stylus on the pitchers box in
the center of the diamond in either
side opening. (not the front viewing
window) Move pencil from pitcher to
Home plate,-then to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
base- to Home. Always observe
movements, in mirror only. If pencil
moves outside of base lines, you are
automatically out. A facsimile of a
score board shown on the back serves as
a a score card.
