NOTES:

This Big League Base Ball game was issued without any manufacturer credits or copyright date marked on the box. (The Copyright was held by Ben Dickerson) The game was catalogued by Dr. Mark W. Cooper as being circa 1940. Dr. Mark Cooper, a noted collector of over 250 games known as "the Cooper Collection" published a book on rare and early antique baseball board games that spans from the 1860’s to 1960’s. The game board is nearly identical in design, with the same rules, to the 1917 Selchow & Richter "Home Team Baseball" parlor game. Selchow & Richter, issued a newer versions of the the game in 1918, 1948,1957, and 1964.

Big League Baseball may be played by two or more players. The game "consists of three important baseball positions," which are represented on the playing board by three spinners for each; "At The Bat," "In The Field," and the "Umpire."

A favorite with collectors, the graphics for 'The Field' spinner dipicts a player reaching and catching a ball. The 'At The Bat' spinner depicts a batter holding a bat. The Umpire is a standard spinner, with two results, "Out or Strike," and "Safe or Hit." A player with a man on base, represented by a peg, can choose to steal a base at any time. The fielder then spins the Umpire dial, to see if he is safe or out. All regular rules of baseball govern this game. " Remember   there can be no arguments. If the players disagree on any play, UMPIRE decides."
