In 1949 Cadaco-Ellis Co., published
Foto-Electric Baseball. The game
operates on AC or DC current to make
use of a light bulb for the
Play-Viewer, to watch your players in
motion. Over 100 possible plays the
pitcher has a choice of eight pitches.
To Hit Consistently, the batter must
anticipate the pitch.
The game came with a Foto Electric Viewer Box, electric Light,
Scoreboard-Player Chart, play envelope
containing 8 pitcher cards, 12 Batter's
Cards, Score Pads, and set of rules.
To play, the pitcher spins the "Pitch" dial and refers to the "Pitch
Table" which indicates whether the
batter struck the out, walked, or hit
the ball. If the batter hits the ball,
the pitcher and batter selects a card
to use. The pitcher places his card
blank side up, into the play-viewer,
the batter then slides his card diamond
side up.
The batter then pulls out the slide. You will see the ball leave the
pitchers mound. Then a small arrow will
appear in the batters box, indicating
the direction in which the ball was
hit. At the same time, you will see the
batter dashing down the 1st base line.
Results of the play appears on the
play-viewer. Record the action on the
playing chart. Score according to the
rules of baseball, three outs per
inning, 9 inning games.
