Game Time LTD, produced the
first Classic
Major League Baseball Board game in
1987. Based on baseball trivia,
the game was issued to take advantage
of the collectors market, and the
"baseball card boom" that began in the
mid 1980's. The 1987 Premier edition
came with 100 collectible baseball
cards. The 1991 Classic MLB Trivia
Board Game Collectors Edition, produced
by Classic Games, Inc., a subsidiary of
Score Board, Inc., was limited to
100,000. This one "No. 074135 of
100,000.
Game Includes: An 8 page instruction
picture book which contains voluble
hints on hoe to steal bases, hit like a
pro, and more secrets from some of
baseball's greatest players - Action
Spinner - 6 American League & 4
National League player pieces - Action
scoreboard - 200 Trivia Baseball cards.
The 1991 Classic Major League Baseball Trivia Card Checklist consists of
200 standard size (2.5"x3.5") cards
which came with the game. An additional
300 cards were released as three,
100-card update sets. Only 100,000
board games and 175,000 of each of the
three series of update sets were
produced. The back of each card
features 1990 & career player stats,
one true or false question, followed by
four trivia questions, and at the
bottom an Autograph space for the
player to sign.
