Located
in Philadelphia, PA, the King Manufacturing Co. Inc.
was under contract to manufacture work
gloves for the government. From about
1952 to 1957, the company made these
Little Pal "All Star" baseball sets
which were distributed to discount and
department stores. The set included a
juvenile size Little Pal 302 Champion
baseball glove, a rubber ball, and an
18" wooden bat. The juvenile set of
equipment was packaged in a red, white
and blue windowed box, with a handle at
the top for carrying. Sets that
included a Little Pal 702 Champion
catchers mitt was also made available.
King also manufactured and distributed discount store quality baseball
accessories in the Maryland area with
the official "Baltimore Orioles" insignia.
The company manufactured and
distributed, fielders gloves, mitts,
Baseball glove and ball sets, up until
about 1964. Other King Juvenile sports
products include, footballs,
basketballs, and boxing gloves. King
had a line of baseball gloves sold in
discount stores up until at least the
late 1970's.
