NOTES:

From 1963 to about 1967, Colgate-Palmolive of New York and the Purex Corporation put out more than 100 varieties of the 9- to 12-inch Soaky toys. The colorful, economically designed plastic toys came in a die-cut cardboard display box with oval openings on the front and sides. The heads of the Soakys popped off to reveal a cap protecting 11 ounces of bubble-bath solution.

The first Soakys issued in 1963: Alvin, Theodore and Simon the Chipmunks, Bugs Bunny, Bullwinkle, Casper, scary Creatures, Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Wolf Man, Deputy Dawg, Dick Tracy, Felix the Cat, Mighty Mouse, Musky Muskrat, Pinocchio, Porky Pig, Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Santa Claus, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird, Woody Woodpecker and Mr. Magoo.

In 1965, the Beatles Paul McCartney, and Ringo Star were issued; Superman, Batman & Robin in 1966. Other Soaky Toy characters issued include: Atom Ant, Baba Louie, Bozo, Cecil, Cinderella, Donald Duck, Dopey, Fred and Pebbles Flintstone, Dino, Barney and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, Goofy, Huckleberry Hound, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, Rudolph, Snow White, Top Cat and Yogi Bear.

Mr. Magoo was available in a White and red or blue baseball uniform, with a baseball at it's base. The back has "Direction: Pour two caps for each bath directly under running water. Mix well before placing child in tub. Make sure bottle is empty and rinsed before giving to child as toy" - Under the base reads: "© T.P.I. COLGATE - PALMOLIVE CO. NEW YORK, N.Y. SOAKY t.m. CONTS. 11 FL. OZS."
