In 1960 the J.B. Williams Company
enlisted Gil Hodges - "Great first
baseman of the world champion Los
Angeles Dodgers," to promote Aqua
Velva. Offered in the promotion was the
Gil Hodges 1960 Baseball Schedule and
Fact Book, a 64-page handy pocket-size
book for easy reference. The book was
made available free when you bought a
bottle of medium size Williams Ice Blue
Aqua Velva.
The pocket-size book pictures Gil Hodges in a batting stance on the front,
and There's
Something
about an Aqua Velva Man" advertisement
on the back. The contents includes:
1960 major league previews; American
and National league rosters and
schedules; Major League Ballparks,
seating diagrams, game information:
times, ticket prices, directions,
TV-Radio details; 1959 major league
averages, pace setters since 1940,
records, active and all-time leaders,
pennant and series winners, writers
awards, Hall of Fame members; "Minor
League Roundup"
