value, the one size fits all,
shatterproof polypropylene plastic
helmet was available in all 24 Major
League teams of your choice. Every time
you send in one dollar and the card
from a pack of Gillette Platinum-Plus
(double edge or injector) or a Super
Adjustable Razor card. "Save enough
cards and you could outfit the whole
gang."
The 1971 newspaper Sunday comic strip ad features New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver saying; "Get Your Own Official
Major League Baseball Helmet* At A
Special Low Price From Gillette !"(*Not
A Protective Device) The comic
continues on how "Billy" got his
baseball helmet. Billy's friend then
runs home to ask his dad to start
shaving with Gillette Platinum-Plus
Blades.
Tom Seaver goes on to tell "Dad" on how to get these souvenir helmets for
only a dollar. The last comic panel has
the order form.
