The Gillette Razor Company sponsored
the Major League Baseball All-Star Game
from 1970 to 1985. Gillette included
special offers on the ballots from
1981-1985. In 1984, a Nolan Ryan
warm-up jacket was offered free by
mailing in the stub at the bottom of
the All-Star ballot with the proof of purchase
seals (UPC Bar Codes) of Gillette products, plus $1.00 for
shipping and handling. Cut from the
package(s) of at least 10 Atra
cartriges, or 9 Track II cartridges, or
12 Good News Razors, or 4 Cricket
lighters, or 1 Atra Razor.
The navy-blue PVC plastic jacket. has an MLB logo on the front chest with
a Nolan
Ryan facsimile signature. The sleeves
have a white stripe running down the
outside, with red and white ribbed
cotton cuffs, also along the bottom hem.
The zips-up front jacket has underarm vent holes.
The neck
tag has instruction for caring and
cleaning. The jacket was offered in
sizes; small, medium, large, and extra
large which was to be selected by the
check boxes on the order form.
