The 1951 Baseball "Informax"
Discs were made available through the
Philadelphia Inquire and a number of
other Newspapers, which included; the
Journal American, and Times Union.
A space at the bottom was reserved for
the advertiser. The New York Yankees
Informax above is blank. Below is a
Brooklyn Dodgers Informax with a
Philadelphia Inquire Advertisement. After filling out a mail in newspaper
cutout order form, you had your choice
of any two Major League teams for only .25 cents in coin. (Do
Not Send Stamps!-Wrap Money Securely)
All the 1950 teams were made available,
8 AL, and 8 NL.
The front of the "easy to use" 7"x7"
premium stat disc card, features 34
indicators to display individual
player stats and information. Just turn
the dial to the desired player, and
that players 1950 Stats appears through
the openings. New York Yankees Rookie
uniform number 6, Mickey Mantle, has
his 1950 Joplin Miners stats displayed.
Could be considered as a rookie card.
The top left has a stats code chart. At
the bottom a roster with the player's
team uniform numbers, names, and
birthday.
On the back, the disc has a chart to update player "Trades, Changes, ETC."
To keep the chart up to date you are
instructed to see the newspaper sports
sections for new weekly averages. It
also has an official compilation for
the Elias Sports Bureau, inc.
