The dark mahogany color wood bat pencils feature a Louisville Slugger center brand with "Baseball's 100th Anniversary" on the barrel in gold. One of the most successful promotions was with General Mill's Wheaties Baseball's 100th Anniversary box tops offer.

The pencils were made available by sending in .10¢ and one Wheaties Box-Top to Wheaties Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pencil, shaped like a baseball bat has a bronze, fully automatic, sturdy durable mechanism. Details about the Wheaties 100th Anniversary Baseball Pencil offer, was also promoted over the radio. The mechanical pencils were also available direct from the Lewis F. Dow, an advertising specialties company in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Baseball bat pencils were offered for .25¢ without advertising.
