Stan Musial always worried about his
baseball career, about getting hurt,
and wanted a business to fall back on.
After befriending Julius "Biggie" Garagnani, owner of Biggie's Steak
House, Musial bought a house, in the
St. Louis area then spoke with Biggie
about a partnership in the restaurant.
Musial officially became Biggie's
partner in January of 1949.
Baseball-themed fans were the fad during the early 20th century. Many were
produced as advertising premiums given
away by various businesses with their
ad on the back. This premium fan was
made around 1956 after the
main dining room was expanded.
Stan Musial & Biggies Steak House, was
located at 6435 Chippewa St. St.
Louis 9 MO. In 1961 the restaurant was
moved to a new location,
at 5130 Oakland Avenue.
