In a 1956 promotion, Tastee-Freez held a "Coloring Contest" where you
could win $10,000. in cash prizes.
When you ordered an "All Star Sundae"
with your favorite toppings or flavors,
it was mounted with a "lifelike
miniature" of a big League baseball
star. "Try out your artistic
skills. Paint color on these white
plastic miniatures - charming lifelike statuettes
of famous American and National League
All Star Ball Players" and You may win
one of 266 cash prizes. Contest Rules,
instructions and entry blanks were made
available free at any Tastee-Freez
Store.
The top left of this magazine ad has an illustration of an Ed Mathews
statuette that has color applied to it.
To the right separated by the April 27
- May 3, weekly special, a Strawberry
Sundae, is the breakdown of the cash
prizes. The bottom right are the
"Weekly Specials Featured," three weeks
from May 4 to May 24, each illustrated
with a Big League Statue behind it.
There were
18 different Tastee-Freez
Big League Stars given away during the
promotion. The manufacture of these
white statuettes, Big League Inc., also
issued a
copper colored set of 18 in
blister packs that retailed for about
.19¢ each.
