This is a vintage Ted Williams cardboard store counter top advertising sign issued by Hillerich & Bradsby to promote their Louisville Slugger bats. Each year Hillerich & Bradsby would issue posters of 4 famous sluggers of the previous year. This year 1947, includes Ted Williams, Johnny Mize, Mickey Vernon, and Stan Musial. Each poster measures 15" x 20" and has an easel back to be used as a counter top display. The signs were shipped to the store in the original shipping box with the H & B label pictured below. In a 2004 auction the Ted Williams sign sold for $1,100. Stan Musial $900., and Mickey Vernon $325. The ad signs are the art work of artist Sam Davis.
