An annual event since 2001, the
All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball
Game brings former Major League
Baseball all-stars and celebrities
together in a friendly exhibition. The
game is played the day before the Home
Run Derby. It was sponsored by
Radio Shack and Taco Bell until 2021.
The 2002 game, played on Sunday, July
7, 2002 at Miller Park in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, was sponsored by Radio
Shack.
The participants in the 2002 All-Star Legends & Celebrity game featured
ex-baseball players; Ozzie Smith, Ernie
Banks, Dave Winfield, George Brett,
Rollie Fingers, Paul Molitor, Ryne
Sandberg, Don Mattingly, Harold
Reynolds, Cecil Cooper, John Kruk,
Cecil Fielder, and Gorman Thomas.
Celebrities included; Dale Earnhardt,
Jr., Picabo Street, Meat Loaf, Coolio,
Kevin James, Howie Long, Bradley
Whitford, Richard Schiff, Chi McBride,
Derek Parra, Tony Todd, Joy Enriquez,
and Nadia Dajani.
The 2002 souvenir baseball features the Major League Baseball Allan H.
Selig Commissioner stamp on the sweet
spot, and an Official Sponsor Radio
Shack stamp on the opposite side. The
top panel has the Rawlings logo, with
the Official 2002 MLB All-Star Legends
& Celebrity Softball Game logo on the
bottom panel. The right panel features
the Al-Star Week MLB logo, and the left
panel has the MLB All Star Game logo.
