NOTES:

The Spalding LL-1 Official Little League Carl E. Stotz baseball was manufactured around 1952 to 1955, the last year Stotz was commissioner. The Spalding box that this ball came in can be dated to 1947-1957. A 1951 catalog shows the Carl E. Stotz Official Little League baseballs were made by Wilson Sporting goods. In previous years starting in 1940, Carl E. Stotz Official Little League baseballs were made by (approximate dating); Reach (1940-1945) MacGregor Goldsmith (1945-1951) Wilson (1951) and Worth. After 1955 The Official Little League baseballs did not feature a Commissioner stamp.

Carl E. Stotz founded Little League Baseball in 1939, and was the commissioner until 1955. Carl Stotz, a highly principled man, filed a lawsuit in late November of 1955 against Little League Baseball Inc., over honest and valid philosophical differences. He didn't like the commercialism of his brainchild, so he disassociated himself. In 1956 Stotz and the League bitterly parted ways.
