NOTES:

This D&M No. 190 Official League ball is dated to about 1923-1929. The "Made In U.S.A." stamp first appears under the logo in 1923, and in 1930, the Official League ball was given the catalog designation No. 200.

As listed in the 1923 catalog: No. 190 D. & M. Official League Ball - Nothing but the very best material obtainable ever goes into this ball. The cover is of genuine horsehide, sewed with heavy five-cord Sea Island thread. The center is Para rubber and the yarn wound on it is 100% pure live wool. Directly under the cover is a thin coating of very strong Sea Island cotton. This makes a hard surface that gives a ring to the ball when a "Babe Ruth" hits it. This ball is official for any game-correct in size and weight-put up in individual boxes and sealed. Adopted by many leagues as their official standard.

The Red and green stitched No. 190 Official League Ball was Draper - Maynard's top of the line baseball. The 1923 catalog (pictured below left column) has a picture when the Red Sox team visited the D&M factory in 1916, which was memorialized by a now-classic photo of Babe Ruth sewing a cover on a baseball. Ruth endorsed and used D&M equipment throughout his career.
