In a 1969 Little Caesars Pizza
Parlor promotion, customers received a
free Little Caesars Official League
baseball with a Mickey Lolich facsimile
autograph, when you bought a medium (or
larger size) pizza at the regular
price. The offer was good at little
Caesars Pizza franchises across the
Detroit area, where they opened its
first location in 1967. The newspaper
coupon was good from about April 7, and
expired on April 15, 1969. Pickup only,
not valid for home delivery.
The regulation size baseball was produced by the Johnny Walker Brand of sporting goods,
also located in Detroit Michigan. The company Imported
athletic equipment which included;
Fishing gear, Volley ball sets, Tennis
rackets & balls, footballs, baseball
gloves and baseballs. Johnny Walker Horsehide baseballs, from 1960 to 1973 were made in
Haiti.
Baseballs made in 1974 and later, were made of
"Leather," after
manufacturers switched to cowhide, and
were made in Jamaica. Johnny
Walker also produced a Little Caesars
promotional baseball in the mid 1970s.
