After the family business, E.C.
Brinser & Sons, manufacturer of
agricultural tool handles burned down
in 1941, Ray Brinser, and partner,
decided to reopen the business and
formed the Eastern Handle Corp. In
1941. E.C. Brinser & Sons, a business
started up by Ray's grandfather,
relocated from Pennsylvania, to
Richmond Virginia in 1906. The Eastern
Handle Corp. was located at 3015,
Falling Creek Avenue, in Richmond
Virginia.
The company which manufactured agricultural Snath and tool handles also
produced baseball bats. The center
brand reads "Eastern Handle Corp."
across the top of an oval, with
"Richmond VA." at the bottom.
"Piedmont" in script is in the center
with "Made In U.S.A." above, and the
model number below. Models includes Big
League Bat line; No. 60 Major League,
No 50. Colligate. Junior League bats;
No. 30 Eastern, No. 10 Eastern, and No.
5 Junior Leaguer.
