NOTES:

Keeping up with the competition, the J.F. Hillerich & Son company came out with the "Ball Balanced" baseball bat shortly after the A.G. Spalding & Bros. patented the Mushroom knob baseball bat in 1903. The knob was designed to provide a bat that was properly balanced, and therefore easier for a player to manipulate.

The center brand is the same as the one used during the 1897-1911 Louisville Slugger bat label manufacturing period but with a "Dash-Diamond-Dash" feature instead of the more common "Dash-Dot-Dash." Inside the oval branding reads "JF-HILLERICH & SON" with "MADE BY" above it, and separated by a "Dash-Dot-Dash." feature, "LOUISVILLE SLUGGER" at the very top. Below is a "dash-diamond-dash" line, with "LOUISVILLE, KY. " at the bottom. Outside and below the oval has the word "TRADEMARK"

The barrel end of the baseball bat features an ornate branding that reads "Ball Balanced" an inside a tail stemming off the "d" in "Balanced" reads "Trade-Mark."
