NOTES:
 
   Dr. Morris Kennedy at the urging of one of his patients by the last name of Wells, who had experience in the leather industry, entered the glove making business as a hands on investor in a new company they would call Ken-Well Sporting Goods. Ken-Wel was established in Gloversville, NY around 1914. The company relocated to New Hartford just across the border from Utica, NY.

Ken-Wel became the largest manufacturer of boxing gloves in the world, but their specialty was baseball gloves. Their special designs enabled their brand to become very popular with notable Major Leaguers who endorsed their products. Ken-Wel's innovative baseball glove designs included the 1925 patent Dazzy Vance model that had double laced fingers, and the Lou Gehrig Zipper Back Baseman's Mitt.

 The Ken-Well Bambino line of baseball bats appear in catalogs by 1925. "Famous Star" block letter last name endorsed player style models, "similar to the style of bats used by"  include; No. 60 Tris Speaker, No. 62 Ed Rouch, No 64 Babe Ruth, No. 66 George Sisler, No. 68 Roger Hornsby, No 70 Ty Cobb, No. 72 Eddie Collins, and No. 74 Harry Heilman.

 By 1931, The Ken-Wel Brand "Pro Treated" No. 250 line of baseball bats hit the catalogs with block letter last name endorsed player Type models "similar to the style of bats used by" included;  No. ALG Gehrig Type, No. ABR Ruth Type, No. ARH Roger Hornsby, No. ASF Fox Type, No. AHW Wilson Type, and No. AAS Simmons Type.
