NOTES:

Founded in 1841 by William Bingham and Henry C. Blossom, the W. Bingham Co., became one of the Midwest's largest hardware concerns. In 1915, Bingham discontinued its retail operations and built a new wholesale warehouse at 1278 W. 9th St. Although Bingham expanded its line of goods, its major business always remained hardware supplies, and by the 1940s the firm's trade extended over 12 states. Their catalog included; tools, Railroad, mining, and factory supplies, house furnishings, electrical & radio Supplies, automotive accessories, toys and sporting goods. In 1961, Bingham closed its warehouse, which ended the company's manufacture of tools under the W. Bingham Co. brand.

All the W. Bingham Co. baseball bats have the same center brand; "The W. Bingham Co." in script at the top, "CLEVELAND"  at the bottom, and the model name centered, all inside an oval, with the model number below the oval. The W. Bingham Co. baseball bat models include; No. 25 "Boys League," No. 50 "Double Header," No. 100 "Professional" (taped handle), and No. 150 "Home Run - Powerfilled." The 150 model had block letter endorsements. Players include; Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Roger Hornsby, Chuck Klein and Joe DiMaggio.

The W. Bingham baseball bats appeared in their catalogs side by side with Louisville Slugger models. The block letter endorsements on the model No. 150, are all players under contract with Louisville Slugger. It is likely that Louisville Slugger produced the baseball bats with the W. Bingham Company brand.
