NOTES:

Often called Bazooka Joe Emblems, Big League Emblems or Topps Felts, the Bazooka Major League Team Emblems  were made available through Topps Baseball cards from 1956 -1958. The set consists of sixteen 5" diameter regulation size felt team patches. They were made available through a special offer from premium cards that were inserted iinto the the Topps nickel baseball packs. As advertised on the cards they were "Great on *T-Shirts, *Sweaters, and *Jackets.

To receive a Major League Team Emblem you had to send in one, Blony or Bazooka bubble gum wrapper in a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). The back of the premium insert card made it clear to send only the BAZOOKA or BLONY bubble gum wrappers, and "Don't send comics or baseball wrappers." When you received the Team Emblem in the mail, it came with a tri-fold mailer with a letter signed by Bazooka Joe & Archie on one one side.

The Bazooka & Blony Bubble Gum letter head, with the greeting Dear friend, goes on to read: "We're happy to send you the Emblem of your Favorite team as a gift from Bazooka Joe and Archie. Its swell to count you among the many Baseball Fans and Major League Ball Players who chew BAZOOKA and BLONY, young America's favorite Bubble Gums." Note: 1958 was the first year the Team Emblems were issued with the words "Your Favorite Team" across the top of the felts, as noted in the letter.

The letter goes on to say that you could get other prizes by saving the big four color comics in every pack of Bazooka, and Blony, which are pictured on the back of the letter. The top of the prize list illustrated Bazooka Joe and Archie with a caption that reads "Here's a few of the free prizes you can get for saving Bazooka & Blony comics." Prizes listed includes;  a cardinal camera, Gold plated initial ring, two bladed knife, and two-way space phones. The bottom has Mailing instructions.
