Beginning with the
January 1989 issue, Baseball
Cards Magazine began issuing Topps "repli-cards"
in panels of 6 cards per month,
creating an annual set of 72 insert
cards. Players in the
set were presented in the
designs of classic Topps sets of the
1950s-1970s. The 1989 issues offered
cards in the style of 1959 Topps,
including subsets: "Rookie Stars of
1989" and six multiple player feature
cards. In 1990 BBC Magazine issued
cards in the style of 1969 Topps; 1991
- 1966 Topps; 1992 - 1970 Topps; 1993 -
1968 Topps.
