Liberty Playing Card Company, is a
Texas-based company which produces
custom-made playing cards. Sometime in
the 1990s, the company produced Diamond
Baseball Bats playing cards, 1900-1950
- 20th Century's 10 deck PPBB
collection for Pretzel Park Baseball
Bats Inc. The standard deck of 52 cards
came with 2 Jokers, a "Play 21" game
instructions card, and a "NHTAHIM"
Baseball Bats Inc. card. A total of 56
cards.
The Play "21" Baseball's Best! card reads: "Dealer give each player 5 cards. Deck is then
placed face down on the table. Each
player draws a sixth card to keep or
discard. Three "4's" and three "3's" is
the only 6 card winning combination. Ty
Cobb "Duce" is wild. The player drawing
this card automatically wins." The
opposite side reads"
"A "Baseball Bat Story" - Original baseball bats were not tapered like
those of today. Libs or branches from
trees with bark removed served as
baseball bats In 1989 "Pretzel Park
Baseball Bats" celebrated Professional
Baseballs 150th Anniversary by
introducing the Original Pretzel Park
Baseball Bat Pretzel."
The "NHTAHIM" card Reads: "Poker Players Or Other Games Use Upper Left
Side of Cards Play "Trivia" Answers On
Every Card - Baseball Players Major,
Minor, Or Rookies Use Upper Right Side
Of Cards -Baseball Bats Inc. P.O. Box 82, Pretzel Park, PA. 19444"
The opposite side reads: "NHTAHIM" An
American Indian Name Meaning -
Nothing
Happens
Till
A
Hit
Is
Made"
Each playing card has a Baseball bat with the players name and a circle in
the upper right corner with either the
number 3 or 4. These numbers are used
for the "21" game. Below the number is
the player's batting Ave. for the year
listed outside the circle, below right,
followed by League, and Team. Along
with Hall Of Fame election year at the
bottom, these are used as the "Trivia"
answers.
The back of the playing cards Reads: "Diamond" at the top of a baseball
diamond, and with the Pretzel Park
Baseball Bats Inc. Bat, Ball, and Ump
logo, which was copyrighted in 1989.
The logo features a baseball with the
words; "Nothing
Happens
Till
A Hit
Is
Made" used for the stitching, and
"Baseball" on the sweet-spot. Inside
the Bat Reads "Bats" and the Umpire
calls "Play Ball" Home plate features
the set number of the deck, with "1900"
- "1950" on each side. The bottom reads
"20th Century's, 10 deck PPBB
