NOTES:

In 1968 "Winners Circle" game cards were distributed by American Oil Service Centers to anyone with a drivers license, no purchase necessary. Patrons could win Cars or cash up to $1,000. Over half the winning game cards were instant winners. After a participant tore the attached cards apart along the perforation, it reveled the action picture on the left side and the "Winners circle" picture on the right side. If the same sports personality or car appears on both sides, you are the instant winner of that cash prize or car.

Three Sports personalities were baseball players. Mickey Mantle (prize value $10.) Willie Mays (prize value $10.) and Babe Ruth (prize value $1.) Willie Mays and Babe Ruth cards are only featured on the right, Winners Circle side. Only instant winning game cards had these players appearing on the left action side. The winner would have then cashed in the card. Mickey Mantle is only featured on the left action side. The game cards with Mickey Mantle on the Winners Circle right side, were instant winners, and would have been cashed in. Such instant winning cards would carry a huge premium.

In 1968 service station games were under investigation for the ability of dealers to pick out winning combinations. This ability had lead to instances of dealers giving winners to their friends and family, and in some instances collecting the prize themselves. Games included; Humble Oil's "wild card Tigerino," Shell Oil's "Mr. President," and American Oil's "Winners Circle"
