Published by the United States Postal
Service in 1989, the Legends Baseball
scrapbook and stamp album contained
four previously issued baseball postage
stamps, and plastic mounts necessary to
mount and protect the stamps depicted
in the album. The scrapbook-stamp
album, which came in a windowed
envelope retailed for $7.95. The
24-page booklet features career
highlights, and tells the players
stories in text and photos.
The package also came with a baseball card of each stamp, picturing the
player’s U.S. postage stamp on the
front of the card, with their career
statistics on the back. The plastic
packaged cards included; Jackie
Robinson issued in 1982, Babe Ruth
issued in 1983, and Roberto Clemente
issued in 1984, and Lou Gehrig 1989.
