The Gene Woodling Bat Grip is often
dated to the 1950s, the years he played
with the Yankees, but the instructions
lists a business address with a Zip
Code. The US post office did not start
using the Zip Code system until 1963,
which means the bat grip was made after
1963. I'm dating it 1960s-1970s and it
could be from the 1980s. I will update
when the information is found.
The Bat Grip comes in a 5" x 7" clear heat sealed polyurethane bag. The
contents include the instructions, two
way adhesive tape, Rubber Grip, and
Plastic End Tape to be applied to the
handle of your baseball bat. The
instructions cover insert includes a
thank you note from Gene Woodling, and
an offer to buy a copy of Gene
Woodling's batting Tips. The Batting
Grip is AABC approved & Recommended for
Babe Ruth play.
