Nabisco Baseball Players

These yellow and blue plastic baseball player figures were a 1958 Nabisco cereal prize. Yellow Sox baseball players were inserted into boxes of Rice Honeys cereal, and the Blue Sox players were inserted into Wheat Honeys cereal boxes. Each team set consisted of batters, fielders, umpires, base runners, pitchers, and an ABC cameraman. Fifteen figures in all, for each team. More players could be ordered through a coupon offer which was also inserted into the box.

Mail in 25¢ and a box top from either Wheat Honeys or Rice Honeys cereal, and you had a choice of one of 4 sets of 5 players for each team.
Blue Sox Sets A-D, Yellow Sox Sets E-H:
Set A & E - Home Plate Umpire, Catcher, Right Hand Pitcher, Right Fielder, Shortstop.
Set B & F - 1st Base Umpire, Lefty Infielders, 2nd Baseman, Left Fielder, 1st Baseman.
Set C & G - 3rd Base Umpire, Left Hand Batter, Center Fielder, 3rd Baseman, Base Runner.
Set D & H - ABC Cameraman, Right Hand Batter, Utility Outfielder, Base Runner Sliding, Left Handed Pitcher.

Excalibur Hobbies LTD of Malen, Maine, also manufactured these plastic baseball players during the 1990s, in many colors, including Red, white, Green, and blue. The 1990s blue baseball players are a darker blue and have more of a gloss than the 1958 originals.
