NOTES:

From 1912 to 1914 these 10 x 12 natural hide shape novelty leathers were made available through a special mail in offer which expired June 1, 1914. One gift slip was included with a pack of Turkish Trophies and Helmar Cigarettes. The 4" x 5" gift-slips were good for one cents in cash, or returned for presents that were listed on the back. For a return of 35 gift Slips you received one leather, or 3 leathers for 90 gift-slips. The presents included Hamilton King Girls, National Flags, Actresses, Actors, College Mascots, College Shields with Seals, Generals or Indians and baseball players mounted on 6 x 8 cards, 7 x 9 silks, or 10 x 12 leathers. The 25 baseball player designs were made available on Satin (S81 silks) or leather.

The design created by renowned artist Hamilton King, for both the Silks and Leathers, feature sketches of "25 celebrated baseball players." Twenty of the 25 drawings are the same used for the T3 Turkey Red series issued in 1911. The players last name and team are below the illustration on the front of the blank back leathers that were made to be used as "wonderful novelties for home decoration."
