NOTES:

This combination prestolite key, bottle opener was distributed by the Canton City Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Canton City, Ohio. It features a round hole at the top to hang on a key-chain. The square opening is called a "Prestolite Key Hole" which served as a wrench to adjust the valve on carbide tanks on the running boards of early automobiles, which furnished gas for the headlamps.

The ornamental baseball player design was patented by John L. Sommer on Aug. 18,1914. The front features the Patent date embossed on the front below the armpit on the left. The back reads "Canton City Coca Cola Bottling Co., Canton City, Ohio, Drink Coca Cola." The embossed lettering was originally done in red, but very few have survived. A premium could be added for bottle openers that still shows the red lettering.
