From 1965 to the early 1970s,
Mickey Mantle served as the official
spokesman for Fedtro, an electronic
products manufacturer specializing in
audio equipment. Fedtro, which
specialized in devices such as
megaphones, house alarms, car alarms,
intercom systems and speakers, etc.,
issued a number of products with
Mickey’s face and testimonials.
The Fedtro
MEG-1000 Powerhouse
Electronic Megaphone is a portable
publc address system. It has a power
range up to 1,200 feet. Features
include: Two-way push button operation, all Aluminum construction,
durable handy carrying strap, superior
clarity and tonal quality. Uses 4 "D"
cell batteries. Fedtro applied a 4-by-4
inch plastic sealed Sticker to the megaphone
that pictures Mickey Mantle and reads;
Mickey Mantle says "Fedtro... the proven
sound of champions." At the bottom, to
the right of the Fedtro logo reads;
"Proven sound around the world"
