This
is a very rare pair of vintage 1960's Mickey Mantle Western Jeans,
manufactured in Commerce, OK. The Mickey Mantle Jeans
buttons, (shown below) and the leather labels, are commonly sold on eBay
separately. The buttons sell for about $5.-$10., and the labels about $30.-$50. The un-used leather labels were dug up in the late 1980's and sold to help raise money for a statue of
Mickey Mantle. The statue stands outside the Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, home of the Oklahoma Redhawks, a AAA team for the Texas Rangers.
The
blue and white tag picturing Mickey Mantle reads; Mickey
Mantle Western Jeans, Glenn Berry MFRS., INC.
Commerce, OKLA. 13 3/4 oz. "420" Reinforced
Nylon, LOT NO. 105. The jeans have an estimated valued at $800.-$1,000. and could sell for a
more due to their rarity. The condition of the
picture tag could dictate the bulk of the value. Without
the tag the jeans will sell for less. There are also
different variations on the leather label. This one
reads Mickey Mantle Westerns.
